Goodbye 2
2025
Charcoal and ink
Goodbye 2 is a zine about friendship. I made it as a farewell gift for my friend when she returned to her home country after we finished our MA course. It’s called Goodbye 2 because Goodbye (1) is a sculpture I made in 2024 about saying goodbye to the past. I aim to keep exploring this sentiment, grieving what’s gone while finding hope within it. Since the zine was meant to be a letter to my friend, though I didn’t finish it in time for her departure, its format is inspired by hand-written letters. I like the slight carelessness in the way the letter folds, which created somewhat random sections, and I used these sections like a grid system.
